Who we are
Protos Labs is an award-winning insurtech startup founded in 2021 by Joel Lee and Simeon Tan, former cyber leaders at Booz Allen Hamilton. They established Protos Labs to commercialise the cyber risk expertise they gained working with the largest banks in the region.
In 2021, the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore recognised Protos Labs with the CyberCall award for its innovative Nexus product. The company is also the first Singapore alumnus of the Lloyd's Labs InsurTech accelerator programme by Lloyd's of London.
In 2023, it raised nearly SGD $3 million in an oversubscribed seed round, which included investors BEENEXT, VinaCapital Ventures, and Artem Ventures.
Today, Protos Labs has grown into one of the leading cybersecurity companies in Asia, with headquarters in Singapore and regional offices in Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Joel builds partnerships with insurers, investors, and regulators. As a serial entrepreneur, he pioneered many businesses, one even achieving up to 40x growth in its first year.
Simeon Tan , CTO & Co-founder
Simeon is a cybersecurity leader driving the growth of Protos Cover, the cyber insurance division of Protos Labs and provides technical leadership in cyber risk solutions.
